I'm anew diesel owner, learning on the go. My recently purchased 04' 6.0 has a coolant leak I believe is the waterpump. I can't find any service manuals for my truck. Was wandering if anyone knows of where to get the info. for the simplest way for me to install a waterpump?
Not sure what the poll is for, but eBay usually has toms of service manuals. Otherwise, your dealer can get them I would imagine.
You might want to provide some more info too. Other may have better insight, but I haven't heard of 6.0 water pump issues.

It's exceedingly rare for a 6L w/p to go away. I'd be curious as to what makes you think that's the culprit.

After searching some more I'm not sure it is the waterpump. I'm loosing coolant somewhere on the front of the engine. It's leaking from somewhere in the area of the thermostat housing. But not coming from the thermostat housing or an radiator hose that I can see. I took the air filter box out and still can't find it. Any ideas before I break down and take it to Ford?
make double sure its not leaking from the band clamp at the thermostat housing & check all the other yoo. if someone in the past has removed the hose for any reason the clamp must be put back in the same position or it will leak. maybe not w/o pressure but will leak under pressure. usually when i get one in w/ problem i replace it w/ a worm clamp as specified by our ford engineers. there is a special service message about this on our site. they tend to break into.

Thanks for the help, I took the thermostat out to check if working properly. So the leak up front was the clamp at the housing. But problems aren't over the trucks been loosing coolant out the overflow resevoir, replaced cap inhopes of fixing. No luck, believe I've probably experienced first head gasket problem. Bought truck used w/edge already installed, believe I've inherited anothers problems. Thought I was getting a good deal, obviously thinking not my strong point. Live and learn!!!
Has your truck had the coolant bottle recall done? There should be a sticker on the coolant degas bottle that indicates a different level than what is molded into the bottle. If not, just fill the degas bottle to the minimum level only.
And, yes, you might have inherited someone else's problems. I hope not.
