What batteries to buy?????

I am considering buying new batteries for my F250 6.0. Anyone have any advise on brand CCA? After installing new batteries what should I expect from the truck? I mean is there in idle re-learn or anything like that?

You will likley get alot of different opinins on this one. Here's my 2 cents. I just replaced the batteries on my 7.3L Ex. After some research, I went with Walmart Everstart Maxx's. $75.00 each.Best price, equal or better 3yr non prorated, 7yr prorated warranty. Plus (the big reason for me) if you have a problem, there's a Walmart open 24hrs everywhere. They are 850 CCA each. Replaced them myself (although Walmart will do it free) No issues. They have Everstart and Everstart Maxx available for most vehicles but I think the only choice you have with the diesel is the better Maxx.
Some people have not had alot of luck with them and most the popular I saw on the forums is interstate. I have not had good luck with interstate. I also have had Walmart Everstart Maxx on my 4runnner for about 5yrs now with no issues.

Dont go crazy thinking about what brand name to get!!
With all the big names and all the lables on batteries you will be mind boggled and the truth to all this is that there are only about 5 BATTERY MANUFACTURES today. Yep even DIE Hard is just a lable.
Just get 850 CCA or higher. Name is not as important cause it is just that a name

Here are big 3 battery manufactures Delphi, Exide and Johnson Controls

I really like the Motorcraft BXT 65 850 CCA batteries. I have had good luck w/ them on my 7.3L and my 6.0L.

Batteries

The first two posters gave you the best advice you will need. Like they said don't get hung up on the name. An adhesive label does not make a battery, it's the internal construction that makes a battery. I currently have Everstart Maxx but also have had Autozone Durolast Gold. Johnson Controls is a good manufacturer. Do your research on the manufacturer and not the label. When you go to purchase look and the small print on the label that tells you which company made the battery. Consider also the warranty and ease of redeeming warranty work if needed.

I replaced mine last year with the exact same Walmart batteries, They have a very good write up on them.

Johnson Control Industries makes Duralast seen in Autozone stores, Diehard - sold in Sears, Kirkland - the Costco brand, Motorcraft - which Ford sells, some of the EverStarts, and Interstate. Exide makes Exide batteries, Champion, Napa and even a % of the EverStart batteries

Johnson Controls and Exide are worlwide

I just had to replace my batteries in my 04 f350 drw 6.0. Man what a price shock I got. I called SEARS and they wanted $189.99 each. I about $hit myself. Those were 950cc. ASKED IF THEY WERE MADE OF REAL GOLD! LOL. Then called Les Schwab and there 950cc was 95.00 each. SO I went there. Factory was 850cc. I could not believe there was such a huge price difference.

When I replaced the batteries in my '03 last spring, the best deal was at Costco. They killed Les Schwab, sears and even wally world. Made by Johnson Controls, good warranty, in stock. The only hassle is that they would not do the install so I had to bring back the old ones for the core charge.

I agree with what has been posted, and I will add the following: Costco and Walmart are great places to get batteries, why? Because they dont give you a hassle when you need a replacement. Some places require an act of congress to get a replacement battery if you have a failure. It seems that Walmart and Costco is happy to comply with their agreement.

Have used the Walmart batteries for several years with fairly good luck. Yes have had a couple replacements under warranty with no hassle. Price/no hassle/ and the fact I need a nation wide instant warranty is my reason

Johnson Controls makes their batteries in Wisconson however I'm sure they and the others have more than one plant world wide.

I bought OE batteries from the local stealership....$115 installed; I also had a coupon for $50 off the total price.

Sometimes it pays to look at Ford.
