I'm sure this has been posted before But my question is what changes were made to the 6.0 to date for the 2007.
I have a 2007 on the way to replace my 2004 I just wondered what changes or improvement have been made
thanks in advance

None worth mentioning from '06 to the (short) '07 run.

Congrats on the new truck! My 07 replacement just came in, we're waiting on the final paperwork.
From 04 to 07 the 6.0, I've heard is now "commonized". I think this means that manufacturing the 6.0 and upcoming 6.4 are built on the same line. I noticed right away that the overall engine area is more compact, neater. The heads look different to me. Someone here posted a link that takes you to the changes that were made to "commonize" the 6.0. IMO, this engine is smoother, quieter, "zippier", than my 04 6.0. So something changed...

Let me guess it's black in color again...to make it easier to see when checking the oil at night... I am looking around now for a 07 F250 CC and see many nice ones on the lot. I am just waiting for Ford to match GM's 0% interest for 72 months and I will make the jump also.
Could someone post a link to the commonized 6.0 changes I have looked for them and can't find anything I did see someone said that the tail pipe may be 4" can someone confirm this with there 07 truck?

I too would like to see the list - I cannot find one from 05-06 nor what (if any, were changed in 2007). I used the search function as well.

we have a 07 6.0 F350 Single Cab & Chassis that we picked up yesterday.
Nothing noticably different?
Exhaust is 3.5" and muffler & cat are both the same as our 06's.

I picked up my replacement 07 last Friday, brought it back in on Monday for a resonating muffler. Around 1300-1500 it's "singing", worse when cold. The tech tried to tell me it's the turbo - I think not since you can stand outside the truck on the muffler side and hear it.
I noticed that the muffler is tilted towards the drive shaft, whereas my 06 it is vertical. The other plumbing appears to be the same as the 06.
Under the hood, the large diameter air intake on the output side of the air filter is a cheaper plastic version than what my 06 had. I'd be willing to bet this is causing another moaning sound I hear at idle, but isn't as bad as the "singing" muffler.
FWIW, I drove four other 07's on my dealers lot, they all had the "singing" muffler and moan at idle. The moan at idle is like a power steering pump low on fluid IMO.

Not to sound mean, but did you check the power steering fluid level?
It would not be the first time a new truck was low on fluids.

No that's not mean I didn't think of it actually, I will check it before heading home this evening...
Thanks,

All of our 06's the mufflers are tilted, but on our 03's & 04's (dont have any 05's) they are all vertical, i wonder why Ford did this?
Just a thought could ford made this change to the mufflers because of the change in the frames One thing I have seen is the trailer hitch sets lower on the truck could this be the reason they tilted the muffler?

I would really like technical details on changes from the 06 to 07 model years if any - I read about this "commonized" engine parts and stuff but cannot find it when searching here or elsewhere. Based on what the new 08's look like and the new 6.4L engine, I think I may get a new 06 or 07. I want to know if it would be better to get an 07 (possibly ordering) or an 06 (on the lot and a little better price). My 04 has been very good to me but I want may be able to upgrade to a newer truck for very little $$$. I've for 56k on it now and the warranty goes to 100k via ESP - that's only 16-18 months for me.
TIA!
