I got 14.1 MPG on my first fill up and 15.1 mpg on my second tank.
This is filling to the filler neck (adding about 3 gallons after it first shuts off). I drive mostly city, but about 150 miles highway per tank.
The trip computer said 15.0 for the first tank and 16.0 for the second tank.
I didn't count the initial dealer fill up, because I don't know how much they really put in.
What's your mileage?

Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?
My 05 F450 6.0 auto 4.30's gets 8.5-9.7 on every tank, about 70% city, towing cars (1 at a time)about 30% of the time. No heavy towing. At 5,000 miles the total average is about 9.2 Not very good concidering my 2000 F450 7.3 4.88's got 10-11 at all times.
Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?
My 6.0 gets about 11.5 MPG (best w/ highway & city combined). My 7.3 would get around 15 MPG with the same set up but I also had a ATS flip chip, ATS turbo shroud, 4" exhaust and a cold air intake. I am going to keep this truck stock based on all of the up-grade problems I am reading on this site.

Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?
15-16 around town (slow fwy traffic/rush hour stuff) and 17-19 on the road. Highest was 19.8 from Atlanta to Kansas City. Couldn't get over 15-16 on a trip 'till around 10,000 miles. I run a splash of Stanadyne in mine for injector lube purposes. Don't know if it really helps mileage, but does run quieter. I would be a lot happier if diesel prices were LOWER!!
Last December with outside temps in the low teens only got 12mpg on the Interstate running 65mph empty.
Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?
How the heck do figure your mileage? 21 MPG?? GIVE ME A BREAK!
The highest my computer has read is 14.2, city/highway combined. My calculations put me closer to 13.6.
Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?
Got it based on a trip from Blairsville GA to Brooks GA - about 150 miles. Filled the tank and did the math. I took a trip to Pine Mountain GA and back, about 130 miles round trip - got 19.5 mpg. I don't use the "computer" for anything other than a trip odometer.
Also, I couldn't be happier with the automatic pulling either of my trailers in tow/haul mode. The rpm's never drop below 1900 without it down-shifting keeping the speed and power where I want it. It is getting the same economy as my 7.3L got with a 5 sp (best I got with it was 24mpg while on vacation in WY).
I would bet my combined mileage is right at 17 mpg.
