14.7 unloaded...on Innovative's Extreme tune. 12-ish towing 8000-9000lbs on the tow tune.

Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?

13mpg if its all City... 19mpg if its all highway... 10mpg towing 10K... we'll see this weekend what happens with 16K. Only about 1500 miles on it right now though... maybe it'll improve, but I didn't buy it for the mileage

Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?

Was 11.6 empty, now is 10.6, have 13K on it. Heavy towing it's 7.2.
I know, it sucks. By the time it's broken in I'll be figuring it gallons per hour, instead of MPG....

Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?

I just broke 10K this morning.

Average 18.5 daily driving (LA traffic rush hours 30 miles to office)
Same on Highway with a moto in back doing 70-75
Best was on trip to Havasu towing nothing but kids and got 20.65

All hand calculated. I usually get slightly better hand calculated over the computer.

The above is about 3mpg better than my 2000 4.5 Screw 150 in the same conditions.

Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?

How do you guys get that kind of mileage? Best I ever got from a diesel was 18, and that was the old 6.9's. It's gone downhill since.

Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?

dsg05
After reading this post for the past few days, I ran the snot out of mine just to see what happened. No high speed stuff, but really fast take-offs every chance I got etc. I refilled last night and only got 13 mpg. A lot has to do with how heavy your foot is, hills (terrain), quality of fuel, temp, humidity, and sometimes I think the mood the truck is in that day. I agree the older trucks got better mileage, at least mine did. 1997-always got 22-23 mpg. 2001-always got 20-22 mpg. (Highway-travelling across country 70 MPH) Over 10 psi on the turbo gauge and over 70 MPH and the mileage drops fairly fast. Just my experience.

Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?

I did the same thing, except ran with a lite foot, mileage went up to 12.7 in a 240 mile drive. hmmm, guess I drive too hard. My truck weighs a lot too with a full toolbox and heavy bumpers front and rear.

Re: What kind of mileage are you getting on your 05?

New first tank was 13.5, second tank was 14.5. After Magnaflow 4" and SCT is was 14.5 with some rodding. Towing went down to 12. Then stock with exhaust was 16.5 on highway.
