Re: Will all the bugs be worked out with the 06 power stroke?

Unless dictated by another widespread problem or part defect.I would think the Motor in its current form is how it will stay. They"May"bump the HP & Torque up a Tad with programming But I seriously doubt It .They have had enough trouble already /

Re: Will all the bugs be worked out with the 06 power stroke?

Yesterday , I picked up a new trailer. While doing the paper work I was speaking with a gentleman who was very interested in my truck and also picking up a new trailer.

He started out with "Is that an 03", I say yes. "Do you have problems", I say yes. He then starts asking about specific problems, when they occured , what actions have been taken.

I ask, "Who the hell are you". He replies, I'm an engineer with Ford, this has been a nightmare for us. He then goes into a slew of not our faults , quality control issues. He then starts talking so technical it would make your head spin. He gets really interested in the fuel in the oil.

I ask him why he's so interested in it. He then goes into how big of a problem for Ford it is and then goes into more way above my head tech. stuff with measurements etc.. He says Ford has been trying to resolve issues on the redesign. He says Ford is afraid that someone will sue on the issue and open the flood gates for a HUGE recall. He said they will keep upping the allowable about of diesel fuel in the oil, UNTIL.

He says they are working on the rumored twin turbo and Knock off Cummins design.

He asks if he can check out my truck. I say, No I really don't know who you are, although you talk a great game.

He then produces a Ford I.D. and I say go ahead. He goes to his van and comes back with some tools and gizmos. He takes a oil sample, plugs a laptop in does a whole bunch of checks.

He says thanks, tells me what problems I may have with my upcoming 2006 and assures me it should be resolved with the 2007 and may be a whole different animal in 2008. Should be interesting, needless to say we were stunned at the whole thing.

Too extensive to list.

Days in shop so far 71 and counting as they still have it.

34K miles.

After spending a month in the shop and having it back only 2 weeks, it's back in the shop. Ford Customer service refused to send me a DSB Package. Told me the info is in the back of manual. Well truck is in shop and I don't have the info can you give it to me? No, it's in the manual.

Creeper, you have to be the "King of all BS**ters". I have heard some outlandish tales before, but this takes the cake. Had to hike up my trousers soil not to soil them in the poop. You really ought to look into writing as an income source.

Re: Will all the bugs be worked out with the 06 power stroke?

Hey Guys... Thanks for the laughs this morning. No it wasn't a Chevy van. Just a Cummins powered Ford van. Rob.

Re: Will all the bugs be worked out with the 06 power stroke?

Strange that a Ford engineer would be trying to redesign an engine designed and built by International. Should be International engineers working on any designs. I thought Ford was just the customer.
