won't start and dealer can't find the problem

F-350 2006 6 liter diesel built in 05, 56,000 miles and this start about 5 weeks ago. 1st thing in the morning drove the 5 blocks from home and stop at the store to buy a paper on the way to work. Came out it would not start. Cranks over fine. Call the dealer had it towed. They could not get to it until the following day. It started for them. They could not pull any codes. They keep it for 2 more days nothing. I get it back drive it for 2 weeks and it does it again. Have towed once more to same dealer. Still can't find problem. I get it back and head across start with trailer in tow for week family trip. Stop for a few mins and will not start again. Now I am trying to find a dealer out of town and a tow and some place to drop the trailer and the family. Two hours later I have 2 tow truck show up and the dam thing starts. I pay both driver and we head off on our trip. Truck starts all weekend. Drive home and it does it again. Towed to same dealer and again it starts for him. I take it home and stop at my brother. Does same thing there but this time he gets in and floor its. It starts....dealer is clueless.. Please help

Classic symptoms of HPOP/STC failure. Starts cold, no start warm/hot.

Send a message via Yahoo to lubbockguy1979
Either a stc or a bad ficm..... The ficm can be intermittant and if it coughs and sputters that could also be the issue.

Blue..yeah, disturbing for sure. As mentioned, one possibility is HPOP leak listed here 6.0 PowerStroke bulletins You need to find out if tec. checked for hpop leak? It should be covered under p/t warr. Good luck!

btw..A classic play on words "If no
DTC found/set = could be "SOL until code shows"? Meantime..tsb says code may NOT be set. Definitely classic play on words.."Find another dealer/tech." JMO!

Hey bluetruckguy:

I'm having the same problems. Same year truck and it just started for me too. Go study HPOP (high pressure oil pump). If I understand it correctly, it's the seals, not the pump. When it's hot, the oil bleeds by and won't build pressure. When it's cold, the oil is thick enough it will start. They say it's common in 2005 trucks. Still under warranty? Get it fixed before you are out of warranty.
