Zero power on cold starts

I'm looking for anyone that may have had or heard of this problem. On a fisrt start in the morning my engine acts like it has trouble idling it hovers about 250 to 400 rpm and stumbles like crazy. I can put in reverse and the thing nearly dies. When I put it in drive I can give it full throttle and the thing barely even moves. It won't even rev to 1000 rpm. After about 4 or 5 seconds it start to slowly accelerate and once it finally revs a bit the problem clears up completely and runs perfect the rest of the day. This happens about once of three morning starts.
Thanks for any help!!

Re: Zero power on cold starts

This happened to my buddy's '03, head gasket shot, coolant leaks into cylinders overnight, truck has to blow all the contamination out so runs like sh!t and smokes white to beat hell. He has to wait 10 min before it runs well. Major fix on its way for you!

Re: Zero power on cold starts

That bites. Well so far no white smoke but I have definitely puked coolant when ran hard. I kinda had a gut feeling I had head gaskets going out though. It sucks I only have 16000 miles on it but I'm sure I'm gonna have to pay, since both the ford dealers in the area are pretty strick about chips. You play you pay. I guess it's my turn to pay. Re: Zero power on cold starts

This winter my 2003 had problems until it warmed up, the motor felt like it was running on less then eight cylinders.

Took it in, the dealer was able to diagnos the motor while cold, immediatly found two bad injectors. After installing the new injectors, they diagnos again and found three addtional injector failures, plus a bad MAP sensor, plus fuel pressure sensor.

The motor now starts with a roar and has never run better! 100,000 mile warranty on the motor, use it!
