01 7.3 Engine Weight

Hello,
Need to purchase an engine stand and wanted to make sure it would hold the weight of a 7.3 diesel. Does anyone have the weight of the motor? Tried the dealer they won't help. Rick

Re: 01 7.3 Engine Weight

IIRC, my 00 7.3 is listed as 1037lbs. dry.
I saw some specs a year or three back. That might have been the IH 444 specs though, I'm not positive. It's just a bit different than Fords modified version of the 7.3ltr.

!

Buy a stand that will support much more than the weight of your engine. The last few engine stands I bought barely hold the advertized weight and these were supposed to be quality stands from Grainger. The don't make equipment like they used to.
Good luck,
Jim

Re: !

Thanks, I found a stand rated @ 2,000 lbs. I'm still looking for others. Rick.
