Having problems with truck running. Got stranded on side of road, THINK IT IS RELATED TO A 10K MODIFICATION GONE WRONG.
Truck ran thismorning, then shut off while driving. water was around 10k resister, cleaned out dried wires put back together and unplugged battery to reset computer. truck started and ran. Later in day truck stalled on me and would not start up. Getting a P1000 code (P1000 Check of all OBDII Systems Not Complete).
I think it is due to this mod but not shure, can anyone help?

Pull the mod and see if it works better. If it does, then it is the mod. If not, it is something else...

Its possible. If the computer sees a short on the ICP sensor, it will kill the truck.
However, random death could also be a CPS sensor going bad.
Remove the mod, clean the connection, squeeze the female connectors closed so they have a good snug fit on the male pins and see if the truck still dies. If so, you may want to start looking at the CPS.

??????? Where is the water from?

OK, thanks to my friend John for entering this post for me earlier while I was on the side of the road...
THE WHOLE STORY:
I have a 10k/15k mod on a switch w/22gauge wires to harness. I just did this last week (thanks Forgotten and others). Last nite I sprayed engine off w/ garden hose. 2 miles from house this AM, truck began to idle VERY bad at a lite, and progressed to 300-1100 rpm romping as I coasted into a parking lot and shut it down. Of course I suspected my cheap mod and unplugged harness to look. Apparently I did not get a good seal around the (mod) wires, because the sensor was full of water. I removed the mod, dried out sensor/harness by blowing in it and dabbing it w/paper towels. Truck did not start. Unhooked batteries for awhile and truck started and ran fine 30 miles to job. At job I borrowed superchips tuner and got the following DTC's: P0603 (and P0541-I deleted AIH) cleared the codes and 9 hours later, 20 miles toward home while running slow in heavy traffic it began to "romp" again, and I pulled over. This time I got P0541, P1211 and P1000. There was still some water in the damn connector too... Truck will start, rev up and die. I added a litle throttle and it "romped" wildly. Unhooked batts again, a couple times, and called the tow truck.
I don't blame the MOD, I really like it, and intend to re-install it when I get thru this. I will just look for a better seal next time, maybe di-electric grease or something.
What should I do next???

I kiled my IPR and something else when I had the 10K mod. I washed the engine, and water got in where the leads of the 10K resistor were and fried it. I have since removed the 10k and added a 4 pos chip. Not saying the 10K Mod is not any good, but I have heard of several people having IPR failures after installing the 10K.

Now that your connector got wet, In a couple of weeks the connection will corrode and it will knock your ICP pressure input to the PCM out of whack...I had to replace the whole connector and wire terminals..
I wont tell you how I know this, but since then I have slowed down on washing my engine, and I stay away from the ICP with water..As there is enough moisture in the air to cause problems as it is...

The ROMP ROMP is *exactly* what happened with my truck because I did not get a good enough connection on my ICP plug. Truck would run GREAT and then for no reason would get a case of the romps and die.
As soon as I removed the ICP and gave the female pins a little squeeze to make them fit the male pins tighter, all my probs went away!!
Im going to PM you some info too on where to find the DTC codes and some other good stuff.
OK, I tightened connectors this AM and truck ran fine in driveway and a short test ride... When I looked up the codes I found initial problem appeared to be ICP high pressure condition, seems this could be consistent w/a short at the sensor(water in connector). Later (when I got towed) I had a ICP low condition, maybe the bad connection? Anyway, thanks again for the help here. Hope it keeps runnin'...

WOW! I looked at my connectors and they have ALREADY changed color!! There must be enhanced corrosion from the DC current. I assume the plating stuff has now been comprimised, and now its just a matter of time before whats left sacrifices itself in the holy name of galvanic corrosion to the point where the corrosion product insulates the connection and the problems begin again - {breathe}
So seriously, should I get the connector now and replace it??

Yes, the metal contacts are different colors, Talk about Galvanic Corrosion...Yes, seriously you will need to get a new connector, solder it on...One of the venders on this site has them for sale...I think SP diesel may have them...
It will only get worse from here..Believe me, I talk out of experience...
