1999 F350 SD Dually - reliability???

Hey guys,

I am brand new to the board and I was wondering what you guys thought about the 1999 F350 SD Dually with higher miles, say close to 200k... The truck I am looking at is in awesome shape from what I can tell. Is there anything I need to keep a watch out for? Anything typical? It is a 5speed so I am sure at some point it will need a clutch, but who knows. Any thoughts are much appreciated. I am possibly going to buy this truck this weekend.

Thanks

Andy

Re: 1999 F350 SD Dually - reliability???

I've got 204k on mine, bought it with 197k on it, and I havent had any real problems with it. Small stuff to fix like bulbs, but nothing mechanical has failed me. The motor is gettin pulled in favor of a different powerplant in a few weeks, but only because I want more power. You shouldnt have any problems with this truck if it looks well taken care of. This site will offer all the knowledge you might need on a truck like that. Id say it has at least another 100k worth of life in the motor, if not more.
