2000 cutting out blowing white smoke

I am pulling out what little hair I have left. The truck cuts out seemingly without ryme or reason. it started acting up and got real bad so I did the recall CPS thing and that fixed the problem for about a week. started again so I changed it again, fixed the problem. It started again and I swaped it with the CPS from my '95 both trucks ran fine. now it's doing it again. I guess I should clarify that it does this under accelleration at speed and if it does it at Idol it just dies. It has an edge evolution 4"exhaust and and stage 2 AFE intake Help!!!!

First thing to do is uninstall your edge stuff. Go back to stock and see what happens.

White smoke indicates a fueling problem (lack of). Could be either fuel supply or a problem with the HP oil system. Try pulling the ICP sensor wire connector off and see if it fixes the problem. If it does, then either the sensor needs replacing or the wiring to it is bad.

Ok, so the programmer is doconnected. there are no problems (I.E. no cutting out or white smoke) but that being said the 3 times I changed the CPS it took a week or two before the issues surfaced again. If it is the programmer causing the trouble what do I do?

Contact the seller of the programmer and send it back for them to check it out and repair/replace it.
