#30 30 amp fuse

About 2 years ago I had my #30 fuse pop on my 99. Due to this site being so great I was able to find out that it was from my fuel heater and unplugged it. About a week later I plugged it back in and no problems for 2 years.

It popped again. So I unplugged the fuel heater again and the fuse is still popping! I cant drive it no WTS light and the overdrive "OFF" light stays on. It started 2 or 3 days ago (again). Changed the fuse and drove it home and have not been able to start it since.

Does anyone have a picture of the fuel heater plug so I no I am unplugginh the right one?

What else can cause this fuse to pop other than that?

Thanks in advance

The fuel heater plug is pretty hard to miss. On the bottom rear of the fuel bowl just to the driver's side.

Besides the fuel heater, that fuse powers the PCM and IDM power relay coils (thru the PCM diode), and the wastegate control solenoid.

I'm guessing that your first instance of it popping was because a wire had shorted against ground and when you unplugged the fuel heater connector, you "fixed" that. The fact that you were able to plug the fuel heater back in makes me suspect this, and that when you plugged it back in, the harness was relocated just a bit and didn't contact that ground point till now.

Either that or you have a shorted PCM or IDM power relay, which I doubt. I can't see how one of those could short the coil to ground.

Good luck.
