99 ford f-250 powerstroke with 7.3L diesel, 4r100 automatic transmission, has problem, shutters when it shifts into overdrive. Just had overhaul kit installed with new torque converter. Problem still exists

Re: 4r100 transmission problem

prolly a generic build by a generic tech. I would take it back and make them fix it. Sorry for being to the point but if it left my dealership it would work flawless and then some. Might give us some info on the truck as to what mods it has as well.

Re: 4r100 transmission problem

Why was the trans rebuilt? Have codes ever been pulled? Was the EEC ruled out as a problem?

Re: 4r100 transmission problem

There are no modificatins to the truck or transmission. The transmission slips or shudders when it shifts into overdrive sometimes. Doesn't do it all the time. There were no codes when it was scanned. We ordered a overhaul kit from ford and installed it, new torque convertor and solenoid also. Still does the same thing as before.

Re: 4r100 transmission problem

Did you replace the pump and check line pressures? I'll bet you arent getting enough pressure to the TC lockup.

Or maybe too much?
