7.3 belt diagram

I am putting a new belt on my 99 250 psd. Have on new idler and pulley but when I went to put this belt on, NAPA 081223, it seems WAY TOO BIG. I have 1 alt and have studied the diagram shown under the hood several times. I've even measure my old one and it is a little over 122" which seems to be the same. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It's easy to thread the belt the wrong way around the tensioner. If you do that, the belt won't have any tension. Don't ask how I know.

Double check the diagram (again).

If your new belt is the same as the old one, you're just threading it on wrong.
