Re: 911 Help

Could the turbo have just died? No power and high EGTs, lots of black smoke... it really sounds like an air supply issue to me, but I can't be certain. I'm sure others with more experience will chime in here.

Re: 911 Help

It sure sounds like and air supply problem. As Dieselman suggested, have him inspect the intercooler boots (there are 4 of them and are likely blue in color) and make sure they are on and secure. If they are on have him look to make sure there arent any holes where air can leak out.

This sounds like it came on quite suddenly but have him check the air filter as well. Always start with the most obvious and then get more complex....

Re: 911 Help

My husband got to the dealer and the tested indicated it is probably the MAPP sensor (but they are not certain) they don't have one in stock but indicated that it is safe to get home slowly.

Will keep you posted and thanks a million for the little women at home.

Re: 911 Help

Thanks guys>> It turns ouy it was not the mapp sensor but the mech did not check the intercooler hose very well and after installing the new mapp senser I found out that was wrong and took it to someone I new and found it at a glance (I'm so embarrased) I thought the mech checked it .

Sounds like we were on the right track but it would be interesting to find out exactly what was wrong with it.

Re: 911 Help

Builds us up with a lot of suspense and then just leaves us hanging until next season.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
