95 F250 overdrive light keeps flashing

Hi,
I have A 95 F250 with 166,000 miles. Recently the overdrive light has started to flash and I'm getting really stiff shifts. If anyone out there knows what might be the problem i would really appreciate the info. I'm just hoping that i dont need to replace the transmission.

transmission solinoid packsounds like it is done, unhooking batteries for 10-15 min will reset your computer and should drive normal till it kicks again but ultimately you need to have scanned and looked at by trans shop,

A code will be needed to get you heading in the right direction. Check to make sure your connector to soleniod body is not broken and fully seated as well.
