99 f-250 trans and accelorator issues

Ok here is the deal. I work in the mountains of colorado and live in the flats. On my way home tonight going down hill, if I let off the accelorator the service engine soon light came on then went off but during this time i had no throttle response whatsoever even after the light went out. about 30 seconds later all was normal. This occurred for about the first 30 miles or so. Then no problems with that at all. Then about 45 miles into my trip in 3rd gear it seemed to jump up and down gears between 2nd and 3rd at light acceleration in traffic. Any ideas! oh yeah the truck has 143,000 and is bone stock. fluids look good.

My idea is to have the codes read so that the PCM can tell you what's wrong.

I had the codes pulled today and the shop said that there were no codes stored and no history codes. Now i'm really lost. I read on here something about accelerator peddle sensors I'm wondering if my truck even has these. Thanks for the help.

If your ses light came on, you have codes stored. The shop used the wrong scanner.
