I implemented the Zoodad mod on my PSD this weekend for the AIS air filter and want to place a screen over the opening for bugs rocks etc. Those who have put in the zoodad mod and placed some kind of screen over it, how did you do it. I want to use some of that porch screen material, but how to attach it?
I used Gutter Guard from Home Depot and covered all the grill openings to protect the cooling fins and keep the big stuff out of my filter. Cota

I would suggest you get the full front screen that covers the zoodad and your radiator from www.canvascraft.net , 218-897-5000, and depending on where you live, get the radiator block for the winter as well.

The soffet vents at home stores work well. Mine was about 3X10 and covered fine. Others have used the round ones but need to match the hole size to snap them in. The rectangular ones have pre drilled holes for small sheet metal screws. No need to cut out exactly, just cover the holes.

It is a little plastic grill that is made specificaly for this mod. It is the best looking alternative I have seen, but the price is a bit higher than I would pay $39.95

I have had my entire rad area covered with normal window screen since new. It is extended over the Zoodad opening and also long enough to protect/cover the bottom of the rad The rad stays free of bugs and other stuff. Either shake it off, or use a hose to get the bad ones.

Hey Boulder, look at my sig. I took the gutter guard and sandwiched the window fine mesh screen in between it. Used two 10-32 screws w/ large washer.
You'll see the mod. Recently I installed a WAAG grill guard while the grill was off I ty-rap'd two gutter guards across the two verticle grill braces and now the huge bugs will get stopped before they fold up anymore fins.
PM me if any questions...OBTW I've been in heavy rains and no water intrusions into filter box. Did drill out more 1/4" drain holes though. You'll also notice I trimmed the AIS nozzle flush w/ rad. frame so it still gets outside air but water has the sreen to break it up and not make it into the nozzle. Did notice truck has the large air hole by fender well may order the foam and drill out the air box for more air flow....
