Anyone in NJ that can help w/ oil pan rust?

Looking for a shop or person in NJ who can help me with patching a rusted oil pan. Its a 1999 F250 2WD. Right now its a slow drip but I have not sanded it down or cleaned it up to know the full extent of the rust. Was quoted $1550 for replacement but can't afford it. Could really use any help or info.

You have to drain all the oil out of pan and let it drain for as long as it takes to be empty. I have patched 2 of my oil pans on my 3 Powerstrokes.
The first one I epoxyed with a product called POR-15 from POR-15.com.

The second one I used JB WELD KWIK CURE. Either product will work if you get all rust off and clean it with either or some brake cleaner and let it dry good before patching. I have also patched my rear fuel tank that leaked right at bottom using the JB WELD. It will work if clean. My oil pan was leaking pretty good before I patched it. Let the patch cure over night before filling back up.
I stuck a sharp awl right into oil pan to clean it out at the hole before patching so the stuff could get into pan

Thanks. Do you know any shops in central NJ (Monmouth or Ocean County) that might be able to do this? I think it might be something I can do but don't want to screw it up and have to replace it. My mechanic said he will not patch it only replace it.

cant recommend any shops.
You can do it, it is simple process.
If you can change your own oil then you can patch it.
NO BIG DEAL, just clean it good with either or brake clean and let dry before patching. Most shops will not do it. There is nothing in it for them

Sounds good. Just one more question. Was told that there was also a very small leak from the rear main seal. That was also included in the estimate. Is that something that I should be very worried about or something I should just keep an I on?

I always say to look above the rear seal. Most oil leaks start up in the vally where the oil gally plugs are. I suggest looking deep in vally with light. I bet that is where the leak is starting from

Ordered the POR15 today. Was wondering, when you were cleaning up the rust what did you do to make sure no rust got in the hole? Did you flush the pan?

the hole was small as a point on a pen so I did not do anything other than patch it. Then changed the oil again after a 1000 miles with new filter
