Axle hub oil slingers?

10.5 sterling axle from an Excursion. I dont know if this hub as been messed with before i bought it.

I tore the hub off to replace the seal, and looking at the factory diagram, I see "oil slinger" listed on the schematic.

There were none on mine when i pulled it down. SHOULD I have them?

The factory manual shows an oil slinger next to the wheel seal. And the Diagram the parts guy pulled up via my vin shows 2 oil slingers next to the lock nut.

Which one is right?

and if its the 2 slingers next to the lock nut, do you happen to know the orientation of them.

Thanks a lot
G
