Axle Question

Posted this in the 7.3L IDI section but got recomended to post it here anyone know if the axle/springs from an 01 E350 Van will fit an 89 F-350? Thanks.

Quote..... "I have been offered the rear axle out of a 2001 Ford E350 van. I know the vans did not change bolt patterns like the trucks did at least to some point but does anyone know if the springs will bolt right on or if the axle itself will bolt to my springs. This axle is the same gear ratio as mine but has the disc brakes and newer springs as it has only 80k as mine is an 89 and has at least 130K. Any info on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks."

Standing behind the axle looking forward measuring from left side across to right side inside to inside = 45 3/4in, measuring outside across to outside = 51 3/4in.

Free bump for you. When looking for axles for 4x4's generally the van axles are narrower than the truck axles. I do not know if this is the case here. Regardless, I would expect the frame width to be the same and the spring perches to be in the same spot (only a tape measure can be sure).

Also, spring length could be different (if you want to use the springs). Be sure to measure all dimensions.
