Tip...Make sure you install the new joints using the torque specs that come with the particular aftermarket brand (like Moog). It'll be on the paper stuck in the box with the joints. Those specs will be different that the Ford manual, and what you find in internet articles here.

I ordered the complete ball joint kit from Your Premiere Source for Ford Truck Parts | Powerstrokeshop.com $291 plus $47 s&h (got an oil filter and fuel filter also). My local parts shop wanted $300cdn a side for the same parts.

I still have to source a good ball joint press. Gotta do a dodge 3500 after I do mine so thought I'd just buy the damn tool. Going to check and see what www.princessauto.com has.
Where on the Powerstrokeshop site is the ball joint kit? I searched for it and it just says no product found, and for that matter they only have ball joints for a 2 wheel drive.

On their homepage click on the "Powerstroke Specials" link and you'll see them listed second item down.

Man... installed new seals and a u-joint on driver's side axle shaft during the day today. What a pain in the arse. The c-clips were pretty hard to remove. Otherwise the u-joint went in ok.

The bearing seal was something else. Tried beating it on with a piece of pipe and the seal started deforming. Couldn't find cast iron pipe big enough to make up a tool using the pipe flange idea. Ended up putting together some much larger stuff from 1 1/2 or 1 3/4" cast pipe from autoparts store. That worked but lemme tell you, you have to pound on that thing with a BIG hammer to get it on and real easy to put it on slightly offset. I couldn't believe the amount of pounding it took to seat it properly. The smaller axle side dust seal went on real easy in comparison.
