If you are running the tiny little plastic line that comes with most gauges then I would run it through the large rubber gromet in the firewall close to the big PCM connector. There is lots of room in a ring around that grommet to put a small hole and shove the tube through.
Others will suggest that if you have an auto trans then to put a small hole through the firewall where the clutch MC usually sits. I have a clutch MC there so that wasn't an option for me.
