Builds boost but slowly

On my 2002 f-450 I been having a problem of the truck building the boost but slowly. With or with out the chip. However, it doesn't do it all the time. To date I have checked for boost leaks on the intercooler tubes and I have checked the up pipes and headers for any leaks.. I now lost and have no clue. Any ideas on what it could be would help.

Re: Builds boost but slowly

Have you checked the line going to your boost gauge and even the gauge itself. The line may be pinched or plugged. The gauge may be sticking somewhat. Or do you notice a loss in preformance along with the slow boost bildup?

Re: Builds boost but slowly

Disconnect the wastegate and try it again. Mine builds boost quicker with it disconnected.

Re: Builds boost but slowly

f you've checked pipes, boots, cooler and waste gate then I'd start looking at the turbo.
