A/C Help

I've had problems over the past couple of summers with the AC not blowing very cold on hot days. I've had numerous things replaced and the guys at the dealership say that its fine. In the morning about 8 a.m. at 85 degrees it blows nice and cold. 3 p.m. at 100 degrees it barely blows decently cool air. I noticed the Dieselsite Max and Cold Rush. Are these about it as for solutions to getting the AC to blow "COLD"???

Do you lose cooling as the engine warms up? If so try putting a clamp on one of your heater core lines while its blowing warm air. If it starts blowing cold within a minute or so then you have a blend door issue. The dieselsite kit is essentially a "band-aid" for a bad or stuck blend door. It will do the same thing that a clamp on the heater core line does, stop flow to the heater core. If the clamp works than yes the dieselsite kit will work too. Is it the right way to fix it? Not really. I would find out whats holding the blend door open and and allowing the warm air to get by first.

Also, check to make sure the condenser is clean. Keep in mind that AC capacity decreases at outdoor ambient increases.

How difficult is it to physically open up the dash and check to see if the blend door is opening and closing either way? is the door vacuum or electronically actuated?

Did you find your problem? My truck does the same thing.

How many miles on what truck? Use a test probe at the plug going into the compressor as you cycle the A/C. If you have electricity at the plug? when you are supposed too You more than likely need a new clutch, pulley and magnet assembly. Have you replace it yet?

I haven't had anytime lately to work on it. I think i had the clutch and all replaced a couple years ago. I'm at 125k miles right now.
