Check Engine Light and No Power 1999 7.3 Power Stroke

1999 7.3 Power Stroke, auto trans, 4x4. Check Engine Light comes on and engine runs rough with no power. I though I had purchased some bad fuel but condition still exist after 4 tanks of fuel. Condition comes and goes without any frequency. Condition will clear if I let engine run for 10 to 20 minutes and it seems to help if I start and stop engine several times. Has anyone had this issue or know cause. I have changed fuel filter, drained gallons of fuel and added additives to fuel. Appreciate suggestions. Thanks

If there is a check engine light then that means there is a at least one code set. Find a place that can scan for those codes, not Autozone. Once you know those codes you should be able figure out the issue.

I took it to Auto Zone and they showed no codes. Do you know if the code will show up if the condition is not present when they check. The condition usually happens when I am in the middle of no where. Thanks, I will have this checked at some place else.

Yea, once you have had the problem a code is set. Autozone does not have the proper scanner for our trucks.
