Code Reader In California

As I stated in my post yesterday, my service engine soon light came on. I have been unemployed since Feb, so I don't have money to go to the dealer or buy a programmer. Does anyone know if part supply house's pull codes for free, or is anyone close to Hollister, that can pull my code? Thanks!!!

Most Transmission shops, such as AAMCO and the like will pull your codes for free, also Midas muffler and brake shops will do it for free. I would just call around, most of your local mom and pop places will help you out if you are nice and respectful.

If you have trouble finding somewhere in Hollister, I'm in San Jose and have a Scan Gauge II that should read your codes - at least if they are engine codes, not sure it reads trans or abs codes...
