Cruise Control

My cruise control suddenly quit working. Checked fuses and they are fine. Any suggestions?

I here there is a recall on some cruise control units. You might want to call your Ford dealership, to see if yours qualifies.

Do a search on it, there've been a couple of threads here recently. Might find something useful in them.

go to Owner Log On Page then put in your vin... it will tell you if you have any recalls. I just got a recall note on my 02 to fix a fluid leak dealing with the cruise control.

What kind of a fluid leak? And where was it leaking?

cruise control sensor on master cylinder might leak and cause fire. Ford fix is to place a fused wire harness between sensor and wiring harness

Ford does have a new recall on the Super-Dutys for the Cruise control. If you go to their website you can enter your VIN and find out if you are included. My dealer did my recall last week and they installed a fuse on the power supply to the CC after inspecting it. Before then it wasn't fused, apparently.

It was leaking at the master cylinder. so I reckon it was brake fluid, they did the reacall today and put the fused wiring harness in. I will wait to see if it still leaks.
