99 psd will run and then cut out, then the service engine lighgt comes on, a couple more cut outs and then the engine will die. shut it down and it will restart, run and do the same cycle. Any ideas? Oil level is good. Fuel is good, no codes on reader. Fuel filter? or CPS? Any help would be nice...
Are you telling me that you don't have a spare CPS in the glove box ? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif You should look into that . Do a CPS search here . Thats what my money would be on. Bought mine from e-bay , 63 bucks inc. shipping .
Does the tach move when you are trying to crank it up. If it doesn't it would be the CPS. They don't always set a code, but if the light came on it seems like there would be one. That is what it sounds like to me (CPS) and where I would start.
Joe
I would check for codes, if the light came on you have a stored code, if you have a spare CPS, and you should, change it, also check both UVC's for burnt or loose connections.
We changed the CPS two weeks ago. The CPS came from the dealer. Is it possible that The CPS is bad? No codes are stored. Any thoughts on the fuel filter? Can the CPS be intermittement?

If the light came on, there are codes. Are you using a scanner compatable with powerstrokes? Actrons don't work.
