Hi there, first post on what seems to be great forum.
Anyways, I was putting in a TS 6pos chip in my e99 7.3 F250. I disconnected power, cleaned the little port on the pcm, and installed the chip as per directions. Engine fired up, I drove it down the block and it shifted from 1st to 2nd as it should but then no further. After that I could only shift from 1st to 2nd manually but it would not go into 3rd or OD. Reversed and Neutral work properly.
I uninstalled the chip, took it for a drive, same problem. I then hooked up my Superchips programmer to check for codes and got p0705 (Transmission Range Sensor). I cleared the code, took it for a drive, shifted 1st to 2ndd but then no further. Code popped back up.
Question is, if I replace the sensor, is this going to fix my problem? Or did something else get fried installing the chip?? I found it weird that only the TRS got "zapped" but the engine fires up and runs normally still.
ANY help is appreciated. Thanks
