front bumper replacement

I just put a nice size dent in my front bumper. I wont say how, it still hurts. What I'd like to know is what year bumpers I can look for to fit on my 2001 250. Its 4wd if that makes a difference. If there interchangable or does it have to be an 01. Also does anybody know what I can expect to pay new or used? Thanks guys.

Re: front bumper replacement

I FEEL YOUR PAIN! I did the same thing a few weeks ago - 1 yr after a nearly identical event last year!! All at slow speeds, but enough to notice the damage done (it doesn't take much with chrome). I replaced the bumper last year, which cost 300 dollars from a wrecker. However, EBAY has some for about 200:
bumper on Ebay

My most recent damage was done at just the right spot on the bumper to be camouflaged by the install of a Bull Bar, so that's what I'm gonna do - HEY, I always wanted one anyway!

If all else fails, your best price for a new one (other than Ebay) will be here:

First Ford Parts

Good luck!

Re: front bumper replacement

I replaced mine in Apr. 05, with a part I purchased via the web (us auto parts). It cost me $320.02, including $86.85 shipping.
I had one replaced by the dealer in 2002, and it cost me $530.82, including labor.

Re: front bumper replacement

I think it's 99 to 03 will fit. Not sure though. I got mine off Ebay. They usually let you know what year the bumper will fit there. I paid around 200.00 and picked it up on my way home through Tex so that saved shipping cost.

After talking to the T/Spt guys @ WAAG I've learned that 99.5 to 2003 bumpers were tweaked every year, so I would look very close at the differences. Here is what I learned the 03' has the two acorn bolts @ the tow hooks and removing the grill reveals two more (1/2" head) bolts mounted against the back of the bumper. Picture this: lay hand flat on top of bumper and slide it towards the rear and let fingers slip over back of bumper and you will feel the bracket and two bolts.

Are the others mounted this way..? ....dunno but this is the feedback from WAAG. Hope this helps you out so you don't get an E-bay bargain only to discover that yah missed it by......this....much...
