Well I'm sure ts running. CAn hear it and feel it. I took off the line put it in a can with diesel in it still did t pull bt I've done research these pumps dont pump well but push good so I'm gonna put ten gallons of diesel in it tomorrow and try to prime it some. The line you speak of is plastic then a hard line I blew threw it with my mouth to make sure the screen wasn't clogged I hears the tank bubble but no leaks. I don't think it has a air leak I think it just hot air in the lne Casie I was low on fuel and parked on a hill. I'll k ow tomorrow I guess

When I did my trouble shooting, I piut the new suction hose into a glass jug ful of diesel. It pulled a 12-18 inches of lift with no problem. That was after I verified that the pump would generate the pressure with a test kit.
When you get to the answer please post what you find.

Back Again

OK Guess it wasn't some thing simple. Removed the truck fromthe garage only to find I had the problem again.

At first When I disconnect the leads to the pump and measure across them I got 11 to 12 volts. would drop to ~7.5 after the 20 sec. Hooked up to the pump I could not read anything. Still don't know what that is about.

However now I only get ~7.5 volts across the leads, never changes. So I am hoping it is the FPR. Everything points to this being behind the radio.

How do you remove the radio??

The electronics changed in 2002. I'm not sure you'll find anything behind the radio.

When you're having this issue, does the little curly glow plug light come on? If it comes on, does it go off after a few seconds?

It sounds as if you've got a power circuit not being energized with the key, and possibly a fuel pump on it's way out. I'd agree 45 psi sounds low, but that should not keep the truck from starting or idling. Have you changed the fuel filter since this started? When fuel gells, it tends to plug up the filter. If the temps are still cold, I'd inspect the filter and possibly add some Diesel 911 so you're not having to fight more than one issue.

I can start the truck. A week ago, had someone come over to switchthe key while I measured voltages and the pump ran???? Thought I was out of the woods. THen I took it out of the garage and it acted up. Add voltage at pump, now I don't!. If I hook up an extenal battery the truck run very some and you can here the pump run.

Did both as soon as the issue happened!
