Fuel Leak!! Need Help

leaking fuel on top of motor, replaced the dump valve and filter , now it appears like it might be spraying from a line under the turbo. are there any connections through there that might be bad or do i need to replace the whole line? Its dark now so its hard to tell under shop lights will blow off in the a.m. but looking for suggestions. Only been a month since i had motor out of truck, could have caused damage to it then, maybe? I dont know. Diesel is to high to be dumping on the ground tho i know this much for sure.

no not yet but it almost seems that fuel may be spraying way up under the turbo away from the bowl. not sure, could this be right?

Had the same problem last week. The tubing that feeds fuel to the passenger side head was rubbed through by a clamp. I had to remove the turbo intake manifold and the glow plug relays to get to it. Have a new o-ring kit on hand, don't re-use the old ones or you'll be doing the job twice.

By the way, get it fixed fast...a side effect of a fuel leak in this area is that your starter gets soaked with diesel. This can cause a complete failure or short out windings which makes the starter spin slower, which causes hard starts and seriously overdraws the batteries.

His Superduty doesn't have a pump in the valley like your truck (94-97?).

The metal line that Blue Dog replaced has rubber ferrule compression fittings on each end. I'd check there first (one at the fuel bowl, and one at the rear of the passenger side head). If those are tight, then the line clamp (plastic coated) may have rubbed thru the steel line.

I used some stainless tubing that I had on hand to replace the factory tubing. Since the tube wall was thicker I didn't reuse the clamp.
