Fuel Timing

Does anybody know what sensors the CPU uses to determine fuel timing. Any help would be appreciated, Mike

Guessing here but I think the main one is the CPS (cam position sensor).

The main sensor that affects fuel timing is the Engine Oil Temp (EOT)sensor. I believe it's mainly for starting, advancing timing when engine oil is cold, then backing off as it warms up.

Barometric Pressure sensor (BARO) also affects engine timing, although I don't know how it affects it. Probably advances timing at higher altitude, but that's just a guess.

The CPS only tells the PCM where TDC is, but I suppose you could say that the CPS affects timing.

Thanks guys, that will give me a place to start. klhansen, what part of Alaska is Eagle River in? I have family in and around Fairbanks. Before I had a life I spent my summers there, I really miss it.
