Help!! Blackstone lab reports high lead levels AGAIN

My lead levels keep going up big time, What gives!!!!!
I switched to syn with shorter interval and it got worse
I know I went a little long one time and it seems like
ever since then they keep getting worse. Did I damage
my engine by doing that. I have heard of some auxilary
oil filters doing this, Is oilguard one of them, Do I need to
get rid of it. Please help this is killing me. I try my best
to take the best care of my truck.
Take a Look at the report and tell me what you think. PLEASE!!!!!!

Should I switch back to the heavier oil. Is there more detergent in the
syn oil and cleaned some stuff out on this round.
FYI I switched to shell syn on this go around and it was the
worst report I have had with less miles!!!!!

Very interesting stuff....I don't know the answer to any of your questions

I run the Shell syn because of the low viscosity for our cold Minnesota winters, extended drain intervals and the cheap price.

I'll be watching to see what other have to say

Wear metals almost always go up when you switch to synthetic. If you want to lower them switch back to dinosaur juice.

444-4d Why is that, The truck acts so much better with the syn.
I am going back to 5000 mile on a change, If the lead is still high
on this one with the syn at 5k then Im going bact to the cheep
stuff (shell 15-40) Cause I was only a little high with the cheep stuff
evan above 7k, So I would think at 5k EVERYTHING will be in spec.
I am very confused I would have bet money my blackstone would
have been next to perfect this time.
I just cant live with being double the average on lead just to get
smoother starts in the winter. I will just go back to pluging it in
at anything under 25 degrees.
This is just absolutly driving me INSANE..........
Time for a Beer or 2 or 3 maybe even 12 at this point.......

That depends on who you choose to follow. It doesn't go against what I'm led to believe.

It may not even be related to the oil choice.

If a bearing starts wearing and throwing lead into the oil, that bearing probably isn't going to heal itself. My guess is that lead will continue to increase no matter what oil is used. Higher viscosity may help to reduce lead iniitially, but it will probably continue to increase and eventually (probably not tomorrow) that bearing is going to be bad enough that the engine will need to be rebuilt.

It may not be all that bad. I wouldn't worry over it too much, but keep looking at your UOA numbers. Like Blackstone said 14 ppm lead isn't huge in the big picture, but you just want to watch for trends or an accelerating concentration of lead.

Blackstone did mention the possiblility of it being caused by WVO, if you're using that. I once had a smaller spike in lead that they attributed to a particle getting stuck in a journal and causing a "lead smear". I do know that you can run for a LOOOOOONG time with scored bearings without major issues.
