Re: HELP. FoMoCo says turbo is toast

For $2500 you could put on just about any of the good aftermarket turbos like a ball bearing or ATS ported housing with a WW. What type of warranty is the dealer offering?

Re: HELP. FoMoCo says turbo is toast

How many miles are on the truck and what month did you buy it in (is it still under the 5 year or 100,000 mile warrany). As stated already, you could get an aftermarket turbo for that price and have some money left over (BB turbo for $1650 plus $300-400 to install at a dealership or you could do it yourself and save lots of $$$).

Might have a look here...have not done business with them before, but pretty good prices!

Re: HELP. FoMoCo says turbo is toast

you can get a reman from ford for 700 and change! Whats the rest for???

Thats a heck of a labor charge!

On Edit: there is a core charge but I assume you'd be willing to part with a toasted turbo.

Re: HELP. FoMoCo says turbo is toast

They are quoting me $1300 CAD for the ford turbo, plus other clamps, seals etc as well as 5 hours labour. Anyone heard of getting them rebuilt?
