Help. My truck won't start.

My 2000 F-250 won't start. Two good batteries and the starter was tested on a table twice last night. It tested good. The starter solenoid relay is good, also. I'm out of ideas and so are my friends. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Some details would be nice. Guess it's not turning over? Have you checked the starter relay?

How do you know the batteries are good?

How did you test the starter? Putting in on a bench and seeing that it turns doesn't mean it's good.

Are you getting power to the relay or the starter, hook up a volt meter and see.

If oil level is low it won't start. Check that if battery is good.

Oil level is good. New battery in Nov last year it tested good today, other battery was replaced today. Truck acted like battery was dead on Mon and wouldn't start and wouldn't take a jump. It wouldn't turn over. I figured it was the starter. After work I pulled the starter took it to auto parts store and tested it on the bench. It worked. Went back and put it back on. This time could hear the starter motor spinning but wouldn't crank the engine. Used a screw driver to jump the starter relay on fender wall and got same result. Thought maybe the starter was spinning but not extending to turn fly wheel. We took it back off and back to store to test it. The pinion extended and spun. Reattached the starter turned the key and nothing but a click. Same result at the relay. Checked voltage at relay, starter, batteries all the same. This morning tested the batteries and replaced the bad one. Turned the key and got the same click.

Sounds more like bad grounds or cables on the batteries not making a good enough connection. I have read on this site before about someone had some bad cables, the corrosion was back up inside the cable and there was not enough juice flowing thru the cables to start. doesn't cost anything to pull and clean the cables at all of the connections along with all of the engine grounds. At least you could rule that out before going any further.
