I'm suppose to be leaving on a 2400 mile round trip towing adventure and my Service Engine Soon light came on twice for about 30 seconds each.
I'm towing a 28ft enclosed trailer and never had an issue before. Any suggestions are greastly appreciated.
It's a 99 PSD dually 4X4. Gauges all looked good. No EGT gauge. No loss in power or performance. Only mod is a 5 inch exhaust.
Towed this trailer before and had no issues.
Is it safe to take the trip or do I cancel. Fresh oil and filter along with fuel filter.
HELP!
Thanks!
I figured it won't be something that would be easy to figure out, but I thought I'd see if anyone had a suggestion or if I shouldn't try the trip.
I'm not near any major parts stores at the moment or I'd try that. Guess I'll flip a coin. LOL
[/ QUOTE ] if you cant get it scanned then thats all you can do. the PCM monitors dozens of systems and senors in the motor it could be nothing or it could be the start of a major problem...you never know unless you get it scanned

Well, I unhooked the trailer and drove 30 miles to Autozone. Found out I had a blown fuse for the trailer hookup. Would that cause the check light? We tried to pull codes and it came up none.
Well, I've made it 120 miles with no service light coming on. Guess that fixed it. But I keep watching the trailer lights to see if they shut off.
Fla. here I come!
