High performing filter media for stock air cleaner housing

Does anyone know of a better than stock air filter media for the stock 7.3 air filter housing? Looking for a replacement filter than performs and breathes better than a stock filter which fits within the stock filter housing. Any info and where to get them would be appreciated.

NO ..... Unless you do a Tymar mod or ford AIS system.

Lots of hype out there , but if you dust your motor , you're out $10k+.

If the truck is stock like in your sig, the Motorcraft filter can't be beat. Plus you won't have to worry about the filter not fitting correctly in the housing like some aftermarket filters and dusting your motor.

Agreed. You can't beat a stock Motorcraft paper air filter for performance in th stock airbox. But the stock airbox is a disaster, especially after this many years, so replace it with an AIS.

There is a filter that is better than the one that came in your 2000. It is the filter for the later model trucks. The Motorcraft part number is FA-1750.

Same exact dimension and fit? Did they switch to a different media type or design of some sort?

I don't know.
Well, if the dimensions are not exact it probably would not be ideal and not seal correctly.
