I am curious. What issue(s) did you take it in for??
I know little about HPOPs but I would be asking for some numbers. Thier scanner can show you what kind of pressures it is producing. I don't have them but there are specifications. If they won't show it to you, I'd be looking for another dealer. I find the terminology strange. I would expect them to say the HPOP is not suppling enough pressure if that was the case. How would they know there is an internal leak without disassembly? Maybe I'm missing something.

It was leaking oil on the driveway. I called, they will set it aside to show me where it was leaking. I "think" he said if it was leaking from the "right side" of the pump, that o-ring would cause it to leak inside too. When the pump is in front of me, I will check it out and have them explain.
I did call another dealer, they wanted $2100 to do the same work. They said if it was leaking any where, they replaced it. There is no rebuild kit. So, another dealer saying some what of the same thing.
Both dealers say they last from 60k-200k. Believe me, if I don't have to pay this I would rather not!

I feel your pain. That is probably the same o ring I had go bad which I don't believe is replaceable at the consumer level. Interesting that with all of the problems and posts regarding the HPOP there isn't more on this particular issue. Well how about it parts dealers do you have sources for this o ring?

A few weeks ago, my HPOP was leaking from the big round plate towards the back and this is not serviceable, I still had about 1000 km before my warranty expired, so the dealer changed the whole HPOP. He said it would have cost me 1300$ if the truck had ran out of warranty.

The only special tool you need is the one to release the HPO fittings, it can be built very easily or purchased for $12 or so. CAC tube(intercooler tube) is really simple to do.

Got it back. Very nice people at the dealership. I see no leaks as of tonight. I will check tomorrow when it is warmer (25* tonight). The turbo is louder though. I can hear it spin up now. The service writer called the tech @ 7:30pm and he said the "cac tube" aka: Charge Air Tube? had holes in it and it wasn't getting correct boost. Sound right?

CAC tube = Charge Air Cooler tube
If there were wire harnesses, etc lying on top of the CAC tube, they tend to wear thru it because of the engine vibration. I took care of mine with a little protective duct tape (what else would you use in Alaska? )on the CAC tube, and wire ties to hold some things away from the tube. If it wore completely through, yes you would lose boost, but I bet it would make one heck of a whistle.
