OK, I follow everything you said as it will all affect the end result. One thing you left out was the exact refrigerant charge amount. Do you know what is in your truck (stock is 2 lbs 10 ozs) or did you charge it to a certain value on the gauges? Inquiring minds want to know. I am still hot......

Ok Bob, you gotta spill the beans on how to get that temp. I haven't seen temps like that since R-12. Help us hot people out. I already have your valve installed and get about 48 degrees.

I think Bob needs to hie himself over to the SCPSD get together next weekend and tune up all our A/C units.
Mine blows cold enough for Upstate SC, but I was in Canada last week when it was 100* here. Then again, I ride to work with the windows open in the mornings and the A/C full tilt for the return trip in the evenings.

Those are some key bits of info that are almost always missing. Those along with ambient temp, engine speed, and fan speed can easily make 20 degrees difference in vent temps. One thing I'm sure of is that idling, fan on high, blowing outside air, and 99 degree ambient temps, Bob Rileys truck will not blow 34 degree air.

ok i also have to ask whats a SSM and what exactly is the importance of this to my 01 truck......all info is appreciated since this 110 heat index garbage is starting to piss me off
very easy fix for that bro...remove the fan under the hood and take a flashlight and look at your condensor...I am sure it looks like caked mud in your 99...take a water hose with low pressure and spray your condensor off. you may need to simple green it first. the water will drain out the bottom so dont freak...but after its clean it will blow colder and harder than before...in 100 degree heat mine will give me goosebumps in about 5 minutes after leaving a jobsite it has sat at all day...

An SSM is a special service message available to Ford techs and dealership personnel. Kinda like a TSB, but basically they are just engineering summaries for basic common problems that the hotline techs are getting frequent. calls for.
I need a vin to pull them up.
As I recall, their is one for our trucks that states that if the truck has a problem with the a/c blowing warm at freeway speeds that you need to add 1 lb of refrigerant in addition to the amount on the underhood label, it gives a specific charge amount, but as I recall it's about 1 lb in addition to the amount on the underhood and whats listed in the service manual.
