How do I Replace Fuel Filter Shut Off O-rings

I have identified the problem now I need to know how to replace the o-rings. Do I need to take the fuel filter housing out of the truck to replace the o-rings or can I do it in the truck?

What is the process involved?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Re: How do I Replace Fuel Filter Shut Off O-rings

I belive unless your hands are large you can remove and replace them with the filter housing on the truck. Larrys little secrets page scroll down about 1/4 of the page, (Fuel system) Then down more to "Fuel system - drain and WIFL/heater problems"
There are several threads on replaceing them. I have not had to mess with it yet, but it looks like there are 4 torx screws on the back that they got to with a torx bit on an air ratchet or 1/4" drive ratchet. Then pull the valve assembly out. Replace the "O" rings on the valve shaft AND the one on the housing face it looks like...(Guess you will see what they are talking about when you get it apart..maybe use a mirror to look at the back of the housing?)
Good luck
