The buzz test actually applies the high voltage to the solenoids so is a different test than just measuring the resistance of the solenoids.
Yes, when the buzz test is run, all of them at the same time sounds the same (maybe a LITTLE variance). Now, when each one is buzzed, they all sound pretty much the same (again maybe a tad of variance)...but no. 7 ( i think it is since thats the code that comes up) is noticeably different.

Is there anywhere that sells just the solenoid?

Check with one of the injector rebuilders, Swamp's or Bean's for instance.

They may be able to come up with a solenoid for you.

Any up dates on this? I am experiencing the same symtoms with a 02 with 240K on the clock, and I am taking notes on what to check and how. I however did replace the IDM and the same code is still there and the light still comes on and off at will.

Keep us up to date on your findings.

hey guys,

sorry i havent posted back...got busy and havent had time to mess with it. After talking with Jody at DP tuner, we decided the solenoid could be bad. So I found a place on ebay that sells them and have emailed them asking their advice. Still waiting to hear back. I might just go ahead and order it since its only 60 bucks and try it.

Here's the link. What do you guys think about this? Its certainly cheaper to replace this than the IDM

are all injector solenoids interchangable? i know there are different styles of injectors (AE AD etc). do the sloenoids have to match up too? ive been told that they are interchangable by someone i emailed on ebay. here is another one im looking at. please give me your feedback and then ill go ahead and order it and give it a go.

Problem Solved Problem Solved!!!!!!!

Well I ordered the solenoid for Injector 7, got it in the mail today, swapped them out tonight, and fired it up!

No more light. That was obviously the problem and now its fixed.

Thanks to all of you who helped me rule out all the other stuff that was way more expensive that couldve been wrong!

I hope this thread can help people who have similar problems down the road!
