IDM Question

What all does the injector drive module do on a PSD? Just wondering, b/c I went to start my truck this morning, and it started making a clicking noise like the battery was dead, but the voltage gauge was reading fine. I left the key in the on position to try and see where the noise was coming from, and it ended up being the relay for the IDM. So here I am asking ***!?!

Any help would be appreciated.

[img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]all it does is drive the inj's & communicates w/ the pcm to control timing & fuel pulse width. it tells the pcm if there is any shorts in the inj. drive circ's. usually if you have a batt problem & the batt's go below the 9 volt range it will make the guages sweep. the relay maybe going out but i would check the status of your batt's.
