Injector knock?

I heard what I think is an injector knocking in my truck today. I only notice it when Im in the stock setting on my DP tuner but when I put it in 80 econo I can barely hear a knock, you have to be listening for it. Should this be something of consern?

I don't see in your sig. where you have done any in tank mods or a regulated fuel return. That quieted my injectors a lot. Can you tell which side it is on it may just be the long lead injector on cyl. 8. You may be just pulling air into the fuel lines thru the factory connectors between the tank and the fuel pump causing the injector knock.

ITP and other vendors sell an in-tank and pre-pump mod kit. I think ITP's website has the instructions available, so you can see what's entailed with the mods. Here's ITP's kit. ITP 7.3L Fuel Tank / Pre-Pump Kit

Basically, the pre-pump mod eliminates the QD connectors on the fuel line on the suction side of the pump, one at the top of the fuel tank and the other at the inlet of the pump.

The in-tank mod eliminates the thermal mixing device that recirculates warmed fuel returned from the engine back thru the pump. It re-routes the return line away from the pickup to let the air out of the returned fuel before it gets sucked into the pickup. The tank pickup assembly also has an aux pickup above the screen on the foot that can admit air if the fuel level drops below it. That's blocked by most in-tank mod kits.

Hope that helps.

I had a lift new lift pump installed about 3000 miles ago by the dealership, would this have anything to do with it? what about running thicker fuel like a 50/50 mix of WMO and Diesel?
