injector pressure control regulator question

would the pressure regulator cause rough idle and stalling ? mine only does it after it sets all day, acts like its losing fuel after it sets a good while,I was driving yesterday and it shut off, just like you turned the key off, would not stat up, replaced cps, still no start, found low oil in high pressure tank ,filled with oil and it started right up,has ran good for about an hour,it did stumble one time after about 30 mins of driving, does this sound like the injector pressure control regulator? thank you all for your time,Tim.

Your problem may be more with aerated oil instead of the IPR. Or even lack of oil. If the HPOP doesn't have a good supply of oil, the IPR can't regulate it very well.

How many miles since the oil was changed? Is it showing on the dipstick?

Try pulling the wiring connector off the ICP sensor and see if it gets better. If so, your ICP sensor is suspect.

One known issue is a cracked LP oil pump pickup tube. The test for that is to overfill the crankcase by 2 qts and jack the rear end of the truck up ten inches and hold the pedal to the floor for 3 minutes wiile monitoring ICP. If you can't maintain ICP of 1600 psi, then the pickup tube has a leak.

But before you go to all that trouble, just change the oil and see what happens.

im overdue for an oil change but was 2qts low when it died on me, rough on start up about half the time ,but once i give it throttle it will straighten up and run fine and start fine all day, until it sets awhile then it may or may not run rough for a few seconds when first started, acts like it's losing prime after it sets awhile.
