I have a 2000 F250 with 163K and at least 2 bad injectors. The engine looks like it has never been opened, so I would say they are originals. I am assuming that is what it is because it misses slightly when warm intermittenly and when it is cool outside, it runs very rough till it gets good and warmed up (and I live in Florida, so cool is a relative term, basically when it gets in the low 60's or lower). If that is truely the problem, I see someone has a used set with 31K on the forum here and they are 160's from a 97. Will these work in mine or are they different? It says he is asking $575 which is around what I can spend right now and I hate to replace them with anything other than an upgrade
good question but i tried that in my truck and ran the same if i remember correctly the newer computer doesnt recognize the older injectors....but that could have been my luck good luck
Is it worth going through the trouble with the custom burn chip and all, or would I be better off buying new injectors? Will I see a hp gain with these and if so, how will it affect my fuel economy? And who is Cass and how to I get him to check them out?
Casserly is the guy he was talking about. I have stage 1's in mine and I like them. Fuel milage did sink though. I used to get 22mpg but now only get 20. I had the banks wheel on the truck but replaced it back to the stock one to get better fuel milage. Stock superduty injectors are a split shot (2 injections) while the obs used single shot. One down side, If for whatever reason your chosen chip dies the truck will not be able to be driven untill the chip is fixed. In my opinion it really is not a down side with going to singles. EGT's can climb fast with my stock turbo. If you get the 160 singles you will be wanting a bigger turbo some day. I am using DP-tuner for my tunes and I am satisfied. Have fun!
