Thumbs up Just installed "The Cure"

I picked up "The Cure" The Ford Transmission Cure for shift flair problems after reading about it on a couple boards. and man im LIKING it! feels like a whole new tranny the OD shift point feels alot better quick and firm. and it downshifts shifts out of overdrive so much easier now dont have to mash the gas to get out of OD. Great product!

I put the Ford Transmission Cure in also. I'm really, really, really happy with it. I was skeptical of putting the couple hundred into my old bus, but I really have to say that I recommend it. The transmission shifts nice and firmly with a logical pattern to it rather than the slushiness that it was before. I really only use my bus with a 24foot enclosed trailer, so I think this will be of great help.

Makes me wonder how it didn't self destruct before I had it.

The BTS transmission sounds cool, but it's a huge cost upgrade if I don't need it. If this transmission goes, yes, I'll look into it, but I think I would be putting The Cure on that as well.

Better yet, use Google and put in Ford Transmission Cure.

For me, I suppose if I wrecked my transmission, I'd have to look at those $4000 expenses compared to what it would cost for a new or rebuilt transmission.

Considering that the cost of "The Cure" was not much more than the price of a full tank of fuel for me, I feel that I won't be looking to replace my transmission anytime soon.

If I understand correctly, the other transmissions still would benefit from "The Cure". Those transmissions sound like great quality products, but they aren't addressing what "The Cure" does, which is a problem that still exists electrically in those Ford automatic transmission.

Once I got a chance to drive with it, I knew that I made a good purchase.

That's not true. Some of the ones you removed had something to do with the original post.

Sure they did , as soon as someone comes on here with something besides the worshiped BTS tranny the crap starts. This guy had something he thought shoud be shared and would help others all he got for it was BTS. I have a early 99 with the orginal trans, and yes it does have flair when shifting to OD always has since new ,but I am still a long ways off from running to lead hill for the famous 4000 + tranny, and if a product like this can prolong the life of mine I am all for it. Yes some of the posts had a whole lot to do with the subject just as this does.

Does it change all the shift points or just third to OD ????. The only thing I use my 99 for is towing, and have always hated the shift from 3 to OD

Install took me about 15 mins ...it is installed on the r side of the trans ,,4 wires & a ground ..

The main thing it does is quicken the TC lock , lessens the wear on the TC ...Most noticeable ,,is on the downshift ,,,
I wouldn't do without it ....

My trans seemed to love it ...feels like a different truck....

I would suggest anyone interested in this product first talk to the 2 most respected trans builders about it..BTS and John Wood before you decide.

The "cure" maybe a good product, but is a band aid for solving the Ford design flaws etc. Hope this is on topic, and does not get deleted.

Ok, so I have to ask a question then.

Everyone will have to take me at face value.

I bought it. Personally, I can see the value. Works pretty nice.

The transmission is operated mechanically and electronically. A bad set of electronics can certainly destroy mechanicals. I think there are plenty of us that have these PSD engines that realize what changing electronics can do to power and all with all the stock mechanicals.

Now, why is there so much "talking down" to a simple electronic product that does that is claimed? I just don't see where I need a $4000 transmission. I'd need a lot of miles to make sense out of that. I know I don't have the resources to be doing anything like that.
