Loose things...what to check for????

Yesterady, I found myself not being able to shift the truck into park. It turns out a cap bolt had worked its way loose and fallen out of the back of the mount above the steering column (very small tight place to work in). THanks to this site, I got it fixed up in about 20 minutes. Without this site, I would have headed to my local dealer to drop some more $$$ (not on the fun stuff!!!)

Then I remembered about 7 months ago that I had to tighten up a nut on the suspension because it had worked its way loose and was causing an awful noise (and unsafe condition).

Now I'm wondering, what other bolts/nuts have worked loose? There are obviously some common items that come loose on these vehicles over time. I'm wondering if there are items that commonly come loose over time (I'm at 125k).

If there are things that I should check, let me know!

Thanks all!
MM

Re: Loose things...what to check for????

Shifter/column bolts were the only thing for me so far.

Re: Loose things...what to check for????

Update....Check the bolts on the factory hitch.
Mine fell off after the bolts backed out enough that 2 fell out and the rest broke under the load of the trailer.
Bad deal.
I checked all my other trucks,(Dodge, Ford and Chevy)and they all had at least one that was loose.
The Chevy hitch was about to fall off also.
